No, don’t use WD-40 as chain oil. WD-40 is a water displacer and light lubricant, not chain oil. It’s too thin and will blow off the chain in an instant, leaving your chainsaw un-lubricated. You can use WD-40 to clean your chain, but always follow it with some decent chain oil such as Rock Oil Groundsman.
