Rock Oil HLP Hydraulic Oil 46 FAQS
Our HLP 46 is a true trooper in every British weather condition! It runs from around -10°C to +90°C, although it’s ever a good thought to check your machine’s manual first to make sure it’s the ideal match for your machinery.
Well, this tiny champion is a multitasker! It’s excellent at preventing wear and tear on your equipment, battles rust like a trooper and keeps your system spick and span. It’s like a bodyguard for your machine!
Good question! The “46” is simply informing you of the oil’s thickness (we actually refer to it as viscosity). It’s informing you that the oil possesses a specific flow rate that is ideal for a lot of hydraulic equipment. Think of it as being the ideal consistency for your machine!
Hi there! This great hydraulic oil is ideal for your industrial hydraulic equipment and systems. Do you have construction or manufacturing equipment requiring a 46 viscosity grade? Then this oil is just what you’ve been searching for!
No one wants to change oil more frequently than necessary! Typically, you’re thinking every 2,000 to 4,000 operating hours, but here’s the trick: get your oil analysed on a regular basis, and it will tell you precisely when it should be changed. Saves time and money down the road!
No issue there! This oil is a good pal to all the regular seal materials like NBR and FKM. It’s a very friendly type!
Simply keep it in a cool, dry place – you can think of it as keeping a fine bottle of wine! Out of direct sunlight and with the cap screwed firmly on. A comfortable temperature of between 5°C and 40°C is ideal.
While we’d rather you didn’t mix various brands (a bit like not mixing your drinks!), if you really must, then use oils of the same specification. But ideally, speak to the manufacturer first – it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Consider HLP 46 as the “middle child” of hydraulic fluids – not too thin, not too thick, but just right! It’s ideal for most general applications and performs beautifully under pressure.
Your oil will also provide you with a few not-so-subtle clues when it’s ready to be changed – if it’s thicker than normal, causing your machine to be a bit cranky, or slower than its usual pace, it may be time to swap it out. If you’re unsure, a simple oil analysis will provide you with the final word!
