Rock Oil EP2 Lithium Grease 400g FAQS
This multi-purpose lithium grease is perfect for general lubrication in a wide variety of industrial and automotive applications. It is especially suitable for bearings, chassis points, and general machinery where a multi-purpose grease is needed.
Extreme Pressure (EP) additives in this lithium grease give enhanced load-carrying capacity. It is designed to retain protection under heavy loads and severe operating conditions and so is suitable for industrial and automotive applications.
This grease has very good mechanical stability, water resistance, and corrosion protection. The EP additives give better wear protection, and the lithium base contributes to good pumpability and very good performance across a wide temperature range.
EP2 Lithium Grease operates between -20°C to +130°C in normal conditions. This broad temperature range means that it will function throughout the year in the British climate, staying in the correct consistency during winter and summer alike.
Reapplication periods are subject to operating conditions, environment, and load. Lubricated components should be closely monitored to establish optimum regreasing periods. Under normal circumstances, application periods are from weekly to monthly applications.
Although EP2 Lithium Grease is compatible with most other lithium-based greases, we would advise that the application area is thoroughly cleaned before grease type is changed. This avoids any possibility of compatibility problems and assures optimum performance.
Apply by means of a standard grease gun or hand application method. The surface should be clean and clear of dirt or old grease. For bearings, make sure that the grease is worked well into the component.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight. Containers should be tightly sealed when stored to keep out contamination. EP2 Lithium Grease can be stored under normal storage conditions for a long time without its properties being affected.
Yes, EP2 Lithium Grease can be used on automotive and industrial equipment wheel bearing. Just make sure that it complies with the special requirements stipulated in your equipment maintenance manual.
Look for symptoms such as increased bearing noise, visible drying of the grease, or a loss in component performance. Periodic maintenance inspections will signal when reapplication is necessary.
